Lindsay Lohan's father Michael is facing up to four years behind bars after he was slapped with four misdemeanor charges relating to an alleged attack on his former girlfriend Kate Major.
Michael Lohan was taken into custody on two occasions within five days last month following an incident at Major's Florida apartment.
He was released on $5,000 bail and told to stay away from his ex, but Lohan fell foul of the law again days later after allegedly attempting to contact Major and then trying to run from police by jumping from a hotel balcony.
He was formally charged on Tuesday for domestic violence and violation of a domestic injunction for the first arrest, and an additional two charges of resisting arrest without violence and violating a condition of pretrial release as a result of his second arrest, according to TMZ.com.
Michael's legal troubles emerge days after his daughter Lindsay served less than five hours of her 30-day jail term for a probation violation.
