Singer Michael Buble almost ended up in hospital last Christmas after injuring himself while testing out new stilts from his wife Luisana Lopilato.

The model gifted her new husband with special jumping stilts, but the playful present nearly caused him serious injury.

Buble tells People magazine, "She got me stilts you can bounce on, and I almost killed myself!"

The singer also dishes on what Christmas is like in Canada.

"We celebrate in the same igloos, eating the same whale blubber, and singing the same Celine Dion Christmas songs," he jokes.

Michael has this Christmas all wrapped up thanks to the success of his holiday album - it has sold over six million copies around the world and has become the second bestselling release of the year - behind Adele's 21.

The album of festive tunes has hit the top of the charts in his native Canada, America, the UK, Australia, Norway, Holland, Ireland, New Zealand, Finland, Korea and Argentina - the home of his new wife Luisana Lopilato.
