Re: THE BEATLES vs THE ROLLING STONES !!!!!!! Who wins ?? 2009-11-15 03:26:29
Most of what I just posted is Stones in the the Beatles era... to make it somewhat fair.
Thing is, I am not trying to win something, only point out the fact the Stones are still filling out stadiums... and will do yet again.

This one is more along the lines of what I had in mind yet it is from a Cadbury advert featuring their Fair Trade sensibilities.
Ghana being the host music nation does qualify this track as "wordly". Downloads of this track also make for a charitable contribution.

This Canadian band has been around for quite a while now. Are they mainstream in the States yet?

How about we really exchange music on a global scale? New stuff from around the globe.
This one is not new almost a year old now...
Cannot get it out of my head. And why should I?

This is a Danish band. Give us your new sounds from around the world. Save us all from the bland the radio forces on us... !!
Do better than me.

I am willing to bet hard cash that you do not realise I do believe in Jesus.
Because I will tell you that fundamentalists, or pseudo-fundamentalists in your case because you know not a thing about your own faith, are destroying any chance of Jesus getting his actual points across.

...and he can't dance!! What the heck is that anyway? I will tell you what, even seeing them live I could not figure out what the heck Sir Mick was playing at! Yet as a fan from the womb and beyond, who cares!! Sir Mick sure as heck has the energy and bless his hippy-hopping soul for having the unabashed nerve to keep it all rolling. I do not buy the music of any artist because I give a flying fig about them personally, it is only the finished product I am interested in. And the Stones, as ever, remain my personal soundmen.
Also, Michael may have an "untrained" voice yet it somehow remains a voice that will carry on for eons... Just like a solid bluesman from any era.

1 Never take anything TOO seriously.
2 Go to the beat of your own drum. Or an entirely different instrument of your own choosing. Mine being good Sax. (Man do I love good Sax....)
3 A lot will not get #2 and most will understand #1 is nigh impossible.
4 Someone is not going to accept me starting from 1 and will skip over, or not.

It is inane remarks like this that either cause me to laugh so hard I very nearly wet my pants or rather sadden me beyond tears. It is people like this who do not understand thing one about their own faith or even less about anyone else's. If they had an inkling they might consider that in the Muslim faith the prophet Muhammed was actually quite fond of Jesus and his teachings as well as those other heavies of the old testament Moses, Jacob, Abraham and so forth. That Muhammed and his followers believe that a truer more uncorrupted version of god's word is what had been handed down. And it is these basic strong beliefs that each one is the "one true correct faith" that has actually taken all believers of any stripe so freakin' far away from any sort of harmony with their prophets.
I gotta tell ya, if any of these various prophets from varying corners of the faith upholding world were walking around today, they would smack you all silly!

Re: Read any good books lately? Who's your favorite author? 2009-08-15 01:48:36
Yes, I just read the Diary of Anne Frank again. I read it once before for school but this time I read it through rather quickly through more aged eyes... She remains a remarkable young lady even through the second reading who could of done so much more with her life had she been not murdered. She would of been the writer she had wished to be...
