Autopsy Planned In Death Of John Travolta's Son
2009-01-04 14:56:55
Good they are having an autopsy done, since there were signs of definite autism despite what was claimed, and what they thought he had could not have caused his death. It's sad, but this will help give them closure.

katew, I agree, she can adopt from where she wants. If someone else thinks that adopting from the USA is more importnt, nobody is stopping them from doing just that.

General Discussion - Re: The US Presidential election of '08
2009-01-03 03:31:50
Not everyone wants to be an American. We who don't vote in the US, didn't cause the problems, we don't need to automatically solve them instead of having an opinion, since opinions lead to solutions, possibly. I would love to have the solution, but I don't. One only needs to look at the result of each country's choices to see what works. If you bake a cake and it turns out to be horrific, you've got the wrong ingredients, anyone would agree. Very good point on who gets served by those politicians, it's like some corporations who are still making so many billions it's frightening, and they're doing lay-offs because it would immediately make them more money, ignoring that to get back to that manpower point would cost them far more down the line. Blind greed. I take my hat off to the few CEO's who have made their work available for $1 a year. THAT'S something any country can be proud of. A good example to those CEO's you mention who still cling to their millions every year while they send thousands home for the last time, just so they get to keep that money. Like Mugabe giving himself 600% raises, while his people die by the thousands of things that he could so easily prevent if he didn't sit with all the money. No, I am not smug or holier than thou, let me explain what I eant with accountability. I am proud of where I live because of the respect the government has for the people, for the fact that they SERVE THE PEOPLE and have never forgotten that. They are accountable to the people for every cent spent, every action taken, everything done. They aren't lost in a quagmire of self-serving politics. With the choices they made here, we've basically WIPED OUT crime, red tape, corruption, oh, and drug abuse, things that carry a massive price tag anywhere it is found. That's something anyone, in any country would be proud of. And rightly so. This way it costs everyone FAR less. It's not impossible to do.  It's a mind-set, nothing else. As anyone who lives here can tell you, if you have respect for yourself, your society, your environment, you will never break one law. Ever. So what's so hectically wrong about the laws? They're just ingredients for that cake since we have no safety net for being out of work here, no free healthcare, with these choices, no need for them either. Two weeks ago, what made headline news is a lady who had beaten her domestic worker. Witnesses, medical statements, clear cut case. What did the lady do? Hire a lawyer to try and get off the hook, not have to pay a thing for what she had done. Any guesses where she's from? Frontpage news here, since here,  if you do the crime, you do the time, you take accountability for your actions, and don't blame everythign and everyone else, end of story, there is clear accountability that gets taken without question. And it costs the taxpayer far less, again. I may not live in the USA, or vote there, but I need neither to know that the wrong choices got made by one person for far too long. And everyone else is left to pick up the pieces. I'm not saying YOU are not demanding accountability, I know full well you do, but unless most people do that, it's something needed on a far larger scale. The beginning stage is set, players in place, now I am keen to see what Obama "can do". Until then I can't actually judge the man.

No More Biological Kids For Angelina Jolie?

She needs to get herself to a peak health again, this time with some weight, if she wants more kids of her own. Either way there'll be no shortage of love for any new kids, as well as the existing kids.

Brad Pitt Vs. Will Smith: Who's Better?

Will tries hard, but just doesn't pull off the versatility that just oozes from Pitt. What Smith does financially benefits him, what Brad does goes a bit beyond that with his humanitarian work. And Brad's not a Scientologist. Brad for me, thanks.

Samantha Ronson Hits Back At Lohan's Dad

Michael's so bipolar in his behaviour it makes my head spin, no wonder there are orders of protection against him by most of his family. First he hates Sam, then takes it back, suddenly remembering he's supposed to be a Christian. Then he blames her for it all over again, even when it comes straight from his daughter, which, in fact, it did. If Lindsay could just follow it through with legal action, perhaps he'd catch a wake-up call.
