2007-11-24 02:32:48
Lots of things to talk about.... Celebrity obsessions, tv shows, music, movies what better way to type ourselves to infinity (btw my friends are all so tired of listening about my fav celebs so it's really nice to let them breath for a while  :D )
General Discussion - Re: What has been the best part of your day?
2007-11-24 02:26:55
Being at the ceremony to receive my university diploma has surely been yesterday's highlight... As for today it will be going out with friends to have some drinks and celebrate... ;D
General Discussion - Re: Read any good books lately? Who's your favorite author?
2007-11-24 02:24:34
Just finished John Updike's "Terrorist" and the "Freedom writters diaries" by Erin Grewell. The first is a really excellent novel, with really quick pace and characterisation, the second's nice too, it has some really weak parts, but overall's quite "readable"...

NY Knicks hoodie Jeans soccer shoes (Pumas) Black socks
Television - Re: reality shows??
2007-11-24 02:13:13
:P True! Especially since they put all these realities at 9:00-10:00 at the exact time when I want to relax a little and listen to some music... And all I get is hysterical people screaming over badly-fixed cameras...

Winona Ryder To Play Spock's Mother In 'Star Trek'
2007-11-20 19:17:42
This film looks nice so far (though they did not include William Shatner in the film, but I don't think he would have a major role in it, anyway). Zachary Quinto,Chris Pine, and Eric Bana are nice choices for their roles and I hope they make it up to the original star-treck cast...
I have observed J.J's tv carreer and I have to admit he knows when and how to take a risk. So, the only thing is whether this will lead to a new series or not. Only the future (and a commercial success) will tell...

Movies - Re: X-Men the movie, X2: X-Men United, X-Men 3

As a longtime fan of the x-men I have to say all three movies dissapointed me... The first one was like an oversimplified "origin" of the new x-men -not Morrisson-.Basically Wolverine's because there is no concrete origin of the other x-men members. It had some ideas ripped of from "God Loves Man Kills" but Claremont's story looked so much better... The second one had no structure whatsoever, it was like watching a series of confusing scenes without connection...Little elements from the x-men characters (rather than, again, Wolverine), and boring at some parts... I did not risked a visit to a theatre to watch x:3 and I rented it instead and I got so nervous...In x-3  they tried to jam over every possible scenario from the "uncanny" books and it got so messed up you couldn't even tell what you were watching... So they had no idea how to finish it and they put on a meaningless action-sequence of half an hour and... yeap, they lived happily ever after..Sory this was way too cheap and lame. I loved the original "uncanny x-men" and the "Claremont/Byrne" period and the "X-Factor," and Grant Morrisson and "x-iles" so I wanted the movies to represent something from them. It happened with spider-man 1&2 and Batman:Begins or Sin City (which wasn't so great a comic-book) so why not try it on the x-men... Instead these movies were lazyly done with a certainty that the popularity of the heroes as figures would drive masses to the theatre... And it succeeded... But the films remain bad...

Celebrities - Re: Who's the worst actor or actress
2007-11-20 10:58:19
Tom Cruise has skills, but he's doesn't always look interested in acting...  In some of his films he just plays "himself" running around in the set without showing any personality ... He ruined the whole "War of the Worlds" because he clearly was not concentrated into acting... To say the truth he has excelled in some films  like "Collateral", in which he was excellent, or "Minority Report" but consistency is not his strong point...

^ The "whole" me vs illegal fishermen thing was off any kind of logic... Playing the "activist" just to promote themselves is one of the most disgusting things a celeb can do...
Movies - Re: Favorite Director?
2007-11-19 15:43:23
Frank Capra Lars von Trier John Carpenter Are my three favorite directors... I also like some Cronenberg films and of course almost all the films of Steven Spielberg but these two have done some really terrible films as well... And I lost faith on Tarantino after the really horrible "Death Proof"...
Movies - Re: Which oldie films are ur fav??
2007-11-19 15:32:03
I agree James Stewart is stellar..."The man who knew too much" and my favorite movie of all times "It's a Wonderful Life"... James Cagney was also really huge  8)
Movies - Re: What Movie should I see?

"Harsh times" with Cristian Bale... This movie is really excellent and seriously under-rated...Maybe the best performance in Bale's carreer so far...
Television - Re: what are you watching right now?

Dr G: Medical Examiner on Discovery... Actually I don't watch it, somebody else in the same room does, and it's loud and starting to get on my nerves...

Celebrities - Re: Jessica Simpson is a talentless bimbo and extremely annoying.
2007-11-19 15:03:45
Any actor's better than Paris, you know the Hilton girl is not the finest you can get in acting... And commercials are more based on mechanisms than solid acting (plus in her Pizza Hut commercial she was just a bimbo, any actress could do that...) She's heavily annoying and talentless... And she has that stupid clueless look all the time... To the fire with all the other annoying bimbos...

Music - Re: Avril Lavigne
2007-11-18 15:26:49
She's ok... I won't go nuts for her and I think that the "girlfriend" song was way over-played but, at least she has some nice songs and she's not so annoying as other "pop" artists. It actually didn't surprised me that a lot of new singers try to copy her "dynamic girl-power" attitude (even K.T. Tunstall's last album had some "Avril" feeling in it), since her songs are catchy and are focused on a large audience. And, I think she has the necessary sense of profesionalism to keep on her carreer on for a really long time...
