Bob Dylan

I think he is the rock composer and songster of the twentieth/twenty-first century. The voice is grating yet rhythmic, the cadence is alarming yet mysterious, theoriginality WAS there; now so many imitators. Dylan (see "Y" is a consonant or a vowel depending how placed in a word according to the exceptions to the English language) will go down in History as a Classic (even though the Classical music period is a certain time before the 18th century)., I mean he IS Serious Music. As far as rebellious; I disagree. Maybe his lure is in what I give him the greatest criticism for: you can take a phrase or line at a time and make great ideas from it, depending on your own mind slant OR they are scattered words summing up Nothing when it comes to discerning the entire stanza or song. These days, he is trying to do too much: the radio shows (which I have never listened to, I don't have XM or XSM or whatever it is), the Broadway show that didn't last long and his various commerial endeavors (the lingerie thing). I think that he sings of love and has never really encountered it although he is far less a political person than he is given credit. A true composer, an appeal for many generations of listeners, and that Yiddish presentation, accepted in Germany at the beginning of his career.
