Star Trek

I first became a fan of star trek in 1966 when it premiered. I still enjoy it but I just wish it could remain new innovative and fresh. I am sure the new movie will be an action packed CGI thriller but some new characters and new missions and new worlds to conquer instead of revisiting the original characters would be appreciated. Star Trek used to be about how human beings were becoming better learning from their exploration of outer space, making hard moral choices and learning to accept and have compassion for the very different and even repellent.
