This is such a brilliant and funny movie! In my top ten favorites. I recommend watching the DVD with trivia turned on so you can see just how intricately crafted this film is. I have watched this about 5 times, and I never tire of it.

This was such a marvelous program, that was killed by retarded T.V. executives that actually programmed the show to run out of order. Joss Whedon's subtle storyline and character development suffers when this occurs. He is a confident genius who knows what he is doing. Just look at Dr. Horrible! I'm glad they made the Serenity movie, but I'll always wonder about the preacher, and who he really was.

I liked him better as a teenager when we all called him Eric. Having access to a huge audience like he does, he should have put the brakes on his riff before he opened his mouth. On a side note, Billy Ray Cyrus is fair game, and is otherwise a one-hit-wonder-putz, who could have afforded to give his daughter a more private and pleasant childhood, instead of throwing her into showbiz.

Before there was a "Flux Capacitor," there was the "Overthruster!" This movie was cartoonishly so far ahead of its time. Peter Weller rocks as the title character, and a young Jeff Goldblum's ingenuous brain surgeon lends a bit of charm. Ellen Barkin's role could have been expanded on, but it was John Lithgow who steals the movie as the psychotic alien. This is John's movie.

This movie is hilarious! I recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh. Kurt Russell as the used car salesman/political wannabe is at his funniest! Jack Warden as the Fukes twins does a marvelous job, plus look for Lenny and Squiggy reincarnated as a pirate advertising concern.
