I too am a Dog fan and am extremely disappointed in his statements. That said, I believe in Civil liberties as well and that was a private conversation. People talk like this all the time. It's not going to stop. Doesn't make it right, but doesn't stop it either. I have a black friend who is a cop and he said that they (police academy) are taught to use a very strong, and yes, sometimes racist vocabulary so that they can project a very tough and fearless exterior when they are apprehending criminals, especially dangerous ones. I know that bounty hunters use the same tactic.
THAT SAID....I believe Dog when he says his vocabulary got away with him; that's hard to turn off. But he really needs to do something to PROVE his sincerety in his apology. Actions speak louder than words.
I am a very forgiving person. It's in my nature and my belief. I just pray that he is sincere.
