Fleetwood Mac: Tusk Album
2008-08-12 02:37:28
While it's a lame follow-up to the enormously successful RUMOURS, TUSK is still not a bad listen. Lindsey's songs aren't all that great here (except I loved their live version of "I Know I'm Not Wrong" done in 2004). All of Stevie's songs are, of course, incredible. "Beautiful Child has always been my favorite Stevie song. Even Christine has some really good songs here..."Brown Eyes" probably is my favorite from her on this album. Definitely a good album to check out if you avoid the bad Lindsey songs.

Fleetwood Mac: Fleetwood Mac Live Album
2008-08-12 02:34:30
Weak for a live album, but has some cool songs here that were never really done anywhere else. The live version of "Rhiannon" here is the only live version to be released on cd where Stevie does her classic screaming at the end. Too bad she doesn't do that these days. Stevie's "Fireflies" is a really good recording that was never included on any other albums. The live versions of "Sara" and "Dreams" are also really good here. All in all tho, a very weak live album compared to 1997's THE DANCE.

Fleetwood Mac: Mirage Album

I like this album, tho you can tell that the band really wasn't in top shape at this point. Of course the classics "Gypsy" and "Hold Me" are on here. I really love Stevie's "Straight Back" and Christine's "Love In Store." "Eyes Of The World" is on this as well, but is really weak compared to the live recording done during the 2003-2004 tour. All in all, a good classic cd with a few random bad Lindsey and Christine songs.

Pitiful! A Fleetwood Mac album without Stevie and Lindsey is bound to be a disaster...and it was!

Fleetwood Mac: Behind the Mask Album
2008-08-12 02:27:46
I was never that crazy about this album, but I think there are some good cuts here. "In The Back Of My Mind" has some incredible dual vocals between Stevie and Billy. "Save Me" is almost like a follow-up to "Little Lies" and probably should have done a lot better than it did. My favorite track on here is "Freedom"...Stevie really nails this song. Too bad she doesn't ever do it live cuz it's really a good track.

Fleetwood Mac: Tango in the Night Album

Clearly not a good time for this band. There are a few standout cuts here, such as "Seven Wonders," the title track, the hugely successful radio hit "Little Lies," and "Isn't It Midnight." All in all tho, this album was really done at a bad time for this band, despite actually hitting #1 on the Billboard charts.

Fleetwood Mac: Say You Will Album
2008-08-12 02:22:50
I like this album, tho it didn't do so well on the charts. The title track was a really catchy song that should have done better than it did. "Running Through The Garden" is by far my favorite song on this cd. Some of Lindsey's songs on here are good, but the majority of them are as bad as his stuff on 1979's TUSK. Several of Stevie's songs on here are old songs that were never released. You can find some of those old demos floating around the internet and in a way, the demos are better than what wound up being on this cd. For instance, "Smile At You" was recorded as a demo around the MIRAGE era in 1982 and that cut is much more intense than the version on SAY YOU WILL. Additionally, Fleetwood Mac recorded two different versions of "Thrown Down" (which was originally written and recorded as a demo for Stevie's solo album TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA) and the weaker of the two is the one on this cd. You can find the other album floating around the internet too...the music and vocals in that version are so much better. All in all tho, this is a good effort from this group.

Stevie Nicks: Bella Donna Album
2008-08-12 02:17:16
Probably the best of Stevie's solo albums, this is her first solo album. Following a few hugely successful albums and tours with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie released this album in 1981. Not surprisingly enough, the album hit #1 on the Billboard charts. If you've listened to this album, you'll understand why. It's a classic album and you can tell Stevie really put her heart into this album. The title track, "Think About It," "Edge Of Seventeen," and "Outside The Rain" are my favorites on this album. She also brings fellow singers Tom Petty and Don Henley to duet with her on three songs here, plus Petty contributes some guitar to "Outside The Rain." All in all, an amazing album, I give it 5 stars!

Stevie Nicks: Wild Heart Album

Personally my favorite of her solo albums, this one is a little more tame than Bella Donna. Of course her hit "Stand Back" was on this album, as is "If Anyone Falls." There are some other really great tracks on this album too, like the title track, "Sable On Blonde," "Beauty And The Beast," and the Tom Petty duet "I Will Run To You." The entire album is a magical love spell and if you've ever listened to it, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Stevie Nicks: Rock a Little Album
2008-08-12 02:10:41
I like this album, tho she was clearly getting a little too crazy at this point with the drugs...which comes out in this album. It wasn't nearly as strong as Bella Donna or The Wild Heart. Tracks like "I Can't Wait," "No Spoken Word," and the fans' favorite "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" are the standout cuts here. "Talk To Me" is a classic from this album, tho it's never really been one of my favorites. Jimmy Iovine, who was the mastermind behind the first two solo albums, walked out during the recording of this album, which caused a lot of the magic to disappear. You can tell a huge difference between the first two solo albums and Rock A Little. All in all tho, a good classic from Stevie.

Stevie Nicks: Other Side of the Mirror Album
2008-08-12 02:07:03
The weakest of her first four solo albums, however it has a magical sense that none of the other previous albums had. It was recorded in a castle in Los Angeles, so that kinda adds to the magical vibe that lasts throughout the entire cd. "Rooms On Fire" was the hit single from this album and is an amazing classic. "Long Way To Go," "Ooh My Love," and "Fire Burning" are a few really good catchy songs. I also really love "Doing The Best I Can," even tho it's not one of the stronger songs on this album...I just think it's written really well. All in all, a good Stevie cd recorded in a low point in her life.

Stevie Nicks: Street Angel Album
2008-08-12 02:02:39
The weakest of Stevie's solo albums, however not completely all bad. "Blue Denim" and "Love Is Like A River" are a couple of good rockers. "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" is a good commercial song that didn't chart as high as it should have. All in all, a fairly decent cd but doesn't live up to anything else she's ever done.
