They showed a very faded copy of The Diamond Queen on the UK tv today with Fernando. Watching it, I hoped that it exists in good prints, because Fernando has masses of charm and personality in this film. It would be a great pity if this and his other films were to be lost, because then people would miss the unexpected experience of suddenly being captivated for a few moments by someone who had an almost magical combination of entrancing looks, smile, and voice. I had not seen one of his films for years. I think he deserves to be better remembered in this country.
