Hit TV shows Mad Men and Modern Family are leading the nominations ahead of the inaugural Critics Choice Television Awards later this month.
The new prize-giving is a spin-off from the famous Critics Choice Movie Awards, which are often seen as a good indicator of which films will go on to Oscars glory.
The first ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on June 20th and Modern Family is leading the field with six nominations, in categories including Best Comedy Series, while Ty Burrell, Ed O'Neill and Eric Stonestreet will all compete for the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series trophy. Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen will go up against each other for Best Supporting Actress.
Mad Men leads the drama nods with five, going up against shows including Boardwalk Empire and The Walking Dead for Best Drama Series, while Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery, and Christina Hendricks are all in contention for acting prizes.
The awards will also feature categories celebrating reality TV and talk shows, as well as a Most Exciting New Series prize.
The trophies will be handed out at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
