Lynyrd Skynyrd have cancelled a series of concerts after singer Johnny Van Zant was hospitalized over the weekend.

The frontman was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday to seek treatment for complications from a previous surgery.

Doctors diagnosed him with a Staphylococcal infection and have ordered him to stay off the stage until he recovers.

As a result, the Sweet Home Alabama rockers have pulled out of a number of shows, including stops in Michigan, South Dakota and Missouri, while a handful of gigs have been postponed.
