A British rock photographer has filed suit against bosses at music industry giant Live Nation for allegedly using an iconic image of Pete Townshend on merchandise without permission.

Ross Halfin snapped a black-and-white photo in 1978 during The Who's final performance with original drummer Keith Moon and he claims the concert promoters have "grossly misappropriated" the image.
Court documents filed in Manhattan federal court allege Live Nation bosses created a stylized reproduction that is "a wholesale copying," by slapping his photo on lithographs, lighters "and even a blanket."
Halfin is seeking unspecified damages in the case.
