Actress Lisa Rinna has undergone surgery to reduce the size of her upper lip, after criticism of her plumped-up pout left her feeling "hurt".
The former Melrose Place star admits she became a target for nasty comments after she went under the knife to enhance her features and fears she has become more well-known for her surgically-enhanced mouth than her acting career.
Now, she has opted for a more natural look after undergoing an operation to fix her lip in August. She tells People.com, "My lips started to define who I am. That bothered me. I took a big hit for being honest (about surgery). It gave everyone online permission to lambast me. It hurt my feelings... It doesn't matter what other people think. I did it for myself."
Rinna's mouth is still swollen from the surgery and will take six months to fully heal, but she's pleased with the procedure. She adds, "My lip has no lumps! It's smooth. It's a work in progress, but I feel fantastic."
