Leighton Meester will walk away from hit TV series "Gossip Girl" once her contract ends in 2012.
The 24 year old has starred as Blair Waldorf on the teen drama since it premiered on TV in 2007, but Meester admits she is looking to move away from the show and focus on other projects.
When asked by Eonline.com's Marc Malkin how much longer she'll remain on the program, she says, "Two more years. Because we're under contract."
Meester has embarked on a career on the big screen since establishing herself on "Gossip Girl," and stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in Country Strong.
She is also signed to Universal Republic as a solo singer and recorded a cover version of Rascal Flatts' "Words I Couldn't Say" for the new movie.
