-CD+DVD Is Debut Release Of Neil Young Archives Performance Series.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse's concerts on March 6 & 7, 1970 at New York’s Fillmore East have been the subject of legend for decades. The nights featured Young with the original lineup of Crazy Horse: Danny Whitten (guitar, vocals), Ralph Molina (drums, vocals), Billy Talbot (bass) and Jack Nitzsche (electric piano), performing at the very peak of their powers. Those two nights are among the only officially recorded shows of the band with these members, and as the debut release of the Neil Young Archives Performance Series, the album Live At The Fillmore East will be available November 14 on Reprise Records.

In 1969, Neil Young--fresh from a stint in Buffalo Springfield and his debut solo album on Reprise Records--discovered a band performing in Los Angeles that quickly became Crazy Horse. Going into the studio to record "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere," the band immediately gelled into one of the all-time great live groups. Though they only existed for a brief period in their original lineup, their mark on music has remained indelible. Bassist Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina were joined by guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro after guitarist Danny Whitten's premature death in 1972 to continue Crazy Horse right up to the present.

Live At The Fillmore East has been the subject of devotion among Neil Young followers since the shows themselves in 1970, when Young and Whitten's dueling guitars were credited as one of the best match-ups in rock history. As heard on these six songs from those concerts, they perfectly illustrate exactly why. Joined by producer-arranger legend Jack Nitzsche on electric piano, a sometimes member of Crazy Horse, the Fillmore East shows are a landmark in Young’s unequaled musical career.

Along with the single-disc Live At The Fillmore East album, a special CD & DVD combo-pak will also be available on November 14. The DVD includes a Hi-Res Stereo version of the album, along with rare photos from the concert, Young's handwritten song lyrics, archival press articles and other rare memorabilia and documents relating to the concerts and this period of Neil Young's career.
