Kelsey Grammer Defends His 'Down Under' Outburst
Kelsey Grammer has refused to apologies for his angry outburst following a candid interview on an Australian TV show, calling his reaction "deserved" and vowing never to appear on the programmed again.
The former Frasier star was left fuming during a chat on the Seven Network's Sunrise morning show on Tuesday when producers broadcast clips from his ex-wife Camille's reality show.
Grammer was angry the footage was shown in front of his new wife, Kayte Walsh, who was watching from the audience.
After the interview, he allegedly phoned Sunrise producer Mark Beirne and launched into an angry tirade of abuse.
A representative for the star has now explained the incident, saying in a statement , "The Sunrise show thought it was appropriate to show clips of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with Camille commenting on Kelsey. This was done in front of Kelsey's wife Kayte. Kelsey felt that was not only rude, but out of line. He asked to speak directly to the producer about this and when the producer refused, he tried calling him."
Grammer also commented on the story during a question-and-answer session at the National Radio Conference on Queensland's Gold Coast on Friday, telling reporters it was an "unfortunate incident", and adding, "I won't be doing them (Sunrise) again, my outburst was deserved."
