There won't be a fairytale wedding for Kelly Clarkson and her music executive fiance Brandon Blackstock. After much consideration, the pop star has decided she wants to elope.

She abandoned plans for an "earthy" autumn wedding at their home because they're both too busy to make it work.

Clarkson, 31, told People: "We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it - all the decisions.
"We sent out a save-the-date to everyone, and then it got crazy and all the details were leaking.

She added that they're also busy taking care of her future stepchildren.
"I have a Christmas record coming out, I'm doing a bunch of stuff with State Farm right now, we have two kids who just started school, we're going to all these football games and soccer games and volleyball games and Brandon's got one of the biggest artists in country music (Blake Shelton). He's flying everywhere," Clarkson said.

The couple informed guests that the wedding is off with a note reading: "Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister."

However, they'll still celebrate with close friends and family.
"Our friend is throwing us a party because we're about to wrap up construction at our house. He's throwing us a huge stock the bar party, so all of the people who were going to be at our wedding will be there," she added.

Clarkson recently made headlines after an anonymous donor offered a museum $150,000 to stop the singer from buying a ring once owned by Jane Austen. Jane Austen's House Museum initially tried to win the trinket at auction, but their modest bid was beaten by the star.
