Ke$ha Pens An Ode To Kenny Powers
Ke$ha has written a tribute essay to her favorite television character for the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, revealing she'll miss Kenny Powers when comedy series Eastbound & Down ends after its current season.
The 26 year-old singer admits she's "obsessed" with Danny McBride's irreverent former baseball star character, and she feels she can relate to the "all-American hillbilly white-trash hero" on a "really deep level" and she's upset she never got the chance to make a cameo on the show, like Marilyn Manson, who agreed to appear without his ghoulish make-up on a recent episode.
In her Rolling Stone essay, the pop star writes, "(Powers and I) are both oblivious, missing social cues about what's appropriate. We both have a really dark and obscene sense of humor, which my publicists tell me I have to tone down.
"But Kenny doesn't tone it down. He owns that s**t. I am proud to be his female embodiment. I always wanted to guest on Eastbound, just be some trashy girl on the Jet Ski with my shirt off."
