Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet and her new husband, Ned Rocknroll, are expecting their first child together. The news comes six months after the couple married in a private New York ceremony in December.

Winslet's spokesperson confirmed the news to People magazine, saying, "Kate and Ned are delighted."

Winslet, 37, met Rocknroll, 34, while vacationing at the private estate of British business magnate Richard Branson on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands in 2011. Rocknroll, born Abel Smith, is Branson's nephew.

During the trip a fire broke out and burned Branson's estate to the ground after it was struck by lightning. Winslet rescued the mogul's mother by carrying her to safety.

The new baby will be Winslet's third. She has a daughter with first husband Jim Threapleton and a son with second husband, director Sam Mendes.
