Jodie Foster is a married woman after exchanging vows with her girlfriend, photographer Alexandra Hedison, last weekend.

The actress's rep confirmed the news with E! Online's Marc Malkin on Wednesday, but no official statement has been released by either of the women.

Foster and Hedison, who was previously linked to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, began dating about a year ago. The two were spotted together several times over the summer of 2013 and both attended the opening of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" in New York last April.

Foster, 51, "came out" at the 2013 Golden Globes while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille, which is given annually in honor of "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.

It's the first marriage for Foster, who has two sons with ex-girlfriend Cydney Bernard.

The marriage is also the first for Hedison, 44, who has a handful of acting credits, including Showtime's "The L Word."
