Things got a little catty Saturday night between Joan Rivers and CNN news host Fredricka Whitfield.

Rivers made an appearance on CNN to promote her new book “Diary of a Mad Diva” and stormed out of the studio in “mad diva” fashion, after objecting to a line of questions from CNN host Whitfield.

The 81 year old comedienne Rivers host the hit E! Show “Fashion Police” which Whitfield described as “very mean is some ways” as the interview began. “I’m sure I say the same things that all your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch,” Rivers added. “We’re one of the few shows that says ‘that’s an ugly dress.’ … These ladies make $28 million a picture. You really think that Nicki Minaj cares I didn’t like her dress?” responded Rivers.

From there the interview continued to go down hill when Whitfield asked why she chose to wear a fur coat that would certainly draw the attention of animal rights activists. “This whole interview is becoming a defensive interview, are you wearing leather shoes” asked Rivers? Whitfield replied yes, and Rivers told her, “then shut up.”

Whitfield continued her line of questioning and told Rivers she wore leather shoes because she wasn't an animal rights activists, unlike Rivers.

Before storming off set, River announced, "You are not the one to interview a person who does humor, sorry."

After Rivers departure, Whitfield wondered if this was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
