Veteran rocker Gregg Allman's doctors have given him the all-clear to continue with a book tour after undergoing cardiac testing.

The Allman Brothers icon had to pull out of plans to promote his new memoir, My Cross to Bear, on a number of TV and radio shows last week after experiencing an irregular heartbeat following recent hernia surgery.

On Friday, he checked into the Mayo Clinic in Florida, where he received a liver transplant in 2010, and he has since been given the OK to return to his promotional duties.

The 62 year old, whose autobiography was released on Tuesday, will kick off the promotional tour on May 8 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Allman has also announced plans to tour North America with The Allman Brothers Band this summer . Dates include headlining spots with Santana and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
