Gary Sinise enjoys visiting American soldiers as part of his charity work as they always tease him about his army veteran role in Forrest Gump.
The CSI: NY star dedicates much of his time to helping troops and their families, and is an active supporter of war veterans organizations.
He often takes time to visit servicemen and women, and puts up with plenty of ribbing over his portrayal of Vietnam War survivor Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Tom Hanks' hit 1994 film.
Sinise tells Fox News, "I'm always involved, trying to do what I can. I have a foundation that provides military support and helps the families; we have a lot of wounded soldiers and marines... I go out and visit the troops and they always call me Lieutenant Dan. I figure that is just part of being in a successful movie, so I just embrace it."
