Summary:
Hardball fans on the move can enjoy America's national pastime in Major League Baseball 2K8 Fantasy All-Stars. The titular "Fantasy" refers not to the increasingly popular hobby of stat-loving sports fans, but more fanciful ideas like stadiums in the Everglades, the Arctic, or on the moon. And while the game does feature the starting lineups from all 30 Major League Baseball teams, traditional simulation aspects have been jettisoned in favor of more arcade-style power-ups that allow pitchers to throw a ball that splits in two, or toss a heater so fast that it literally catches fire. Meanwhile, hitters can drive the defense crazy by selecting a "chicken ball" that runs away from fielders once it hits the ground, but the defense can fight back by erecting brick walls or performing super jumps.

Stylus-based controls let gamers gauge the power of swings and the accuracy of pitches, while fielding and base running is accomplished by dragging and tracing lines on the touch screen. A training mode helps players get acclimated to the control scheme with a number of mini-games, while tournament and exhibition modes get right to the baseball.
