Her rumored relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez is heating up - the New York Yankees' third baseman has been introducing her to his best friends.

She has been linked to Rodriguez for the last few weeks and has been spotted in the audience cheering the sportsman on during recent Yankees games. Insiders claim the couple is taking steps towards making its romance public - and she has even introduced A-Rod to her five-year-old son, Ryder.

A source tells People magazine, "It's somewhat serious. He introduced her to a bunch of his friends."

Rodriguez was previously alleged to be dating Madonna following her divorce from director Guy Ritchie, while she, who shares Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson, recently split from on/off lover Owen Wilson.

Now the duo has been seen dining out together in Manhattan with sports presenter Bob Costas and his wife - prompting further rumors they are a couple.

A source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "A-Rod and her were holding hands and whispering in each other's ears the whole time. They definitely looked every bit together."

Rodriguez was linked to Madonna last year following her split from Guy Ritchie, while she is divorced from Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson. The former couple share a five-year-old son Ryder.
