A canceled wedding hasn't put her off the institution of marriage - the newly single Hollywood beauty is creating a reality show all about tying the knot.

Her last month called off her engagement to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, the father of her daughter Valentina. However she is pressing ahead with a new hour-long show themed around weddings.

Daily Variety claims her and her associate Jose Tamez are in talks with TV bosses to develop the concept. Hayek and Tamez's TV credits to date include Ugly Betty and TV movie In the Time of the Butterflies.

She is lending her star power to a UNICEF campaign to eradicate tetanus in mothers and babies around the world within four years.

She a paid spokeswoman for Pampers' tetanus vaccine program, recounted her experiences during a recent trip to the West African nation of Sierra Leone, where she met with tetanus victims. "One of the things that was very moving about the trip was to see 15-year-old girls, really young, taking responsibility for their lives and their children before they're born by saying 'I am going to be healthy, I am going to take this vaccination,'" she told journalists at the United Nations on Thursday. "I had no idea how much this was going to really personally move me," added the 42-year-old star of films including "Desperado" and "Frida."

The Pampers-UNICEF partnership has already provided over 50 million vaccines to mothers and babies in developing countries, where tetanus kills up to 140,000 infants and 30,000 women each year, according to the U.N. agency. Pampers, owned by Procter & Gamble Co., said it would give UNICEF the money for one tetanus vaccine for every pack of specially marked diapers it sells before the end of the year. It expects that to produce 70 million more vaccinations.

Her daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault was born in September 2007.

She left a British TV presenter red-faced on Friday when he failed to understand her Latin accent— and thought she had just outed herself as a lesbian.

She who is half Mexican and half Lebanese, was being interviewed on live TV show "This Morning" when presenter Eamonn Holmes commented on her surname.

Holmes, from Northern Ireland, mused, "She doesn't sound very Mexican."

She responded by saying, "I'm half Lebanese"— but Holmes misheard her and said, "So you're a lesbian?", prompting her to burst into laughter.

She smiled and then leaned in to clarify her answer, saying slowly, "I am Lebanese."

She was recently rumored to have rekindled her romance with her ex-fiance, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. The former couple has a one-year-old daughter together, Valentina.

She will recur as "Elisa," Jack Donaghy's (Alec Baldwin) new love interest on NBC's two-time Emmy Award-winning comedy "30 Rock."

"She is truly a gifted talent and an incredible force in our industry," said Teri Weinberg, Executive Vice President, NBC Entertainment. "I've had the privilege of working with her and I can't wait to see what comedic sparks fly with our brilliant '30 Rock' cast."

"I have been a fan of Tina's talent, both as an actress and a writer, since working with her years ago on 'SNL.' I am so excited to be part of such an intelligent, funny show, as well as working with the brilliant Alec Baldwin and the rest of the cast of '30 Rock,'" said her.

"She is smart, funny, and gorgeous. I think she will be a great strong presence opposite Jack Donaghy," said Emmy Award-winning Tina Fey, creator, executive producer and star of "30 Rock."

Without a doubt,Salma Hayek wins this matchup. She's far lovelier, more voluptuous and even a slightly better actress than Penelope Cruz. That's not to say that Ms. Cruz isn't a capable, beautiful woman; she's quite a talented star in her own right. Salma just has a lot more-in EVERY sense of the word-going for her. Wink Grin Cool

I don't like to compare actresses and stars, so I will say that she was wonderful in "From Dusk Til Dawn" (the one with the snake dance) and she is very intelligent AND beautiful. I am very inpressed with her work on eradicating tetanus. I didn't know she was Lebanese and  she is awesome for not rushing into marriage.

She is so fond of breastfeeding she suckled the starving child of a woman who couldn't express milk during a recent trip to Sierra Leone.

She who told the Huffington Post website last year she was so hooked on breastfeeding her baby daughter Valentina, she felt "like an alcoholic", has revealed she helped a desperate mom in a refugee camp during a UNICEF fact-finding trip.

Appearing on Thursday's Today show, She simply nodded as host Kathie Lee Gifford asked, "You found a child that was starving to death, the mother had no milk - and you nursed that baby?" And then said, "It's about women sticking together and we really need to help the children in any way we can."

And now she and UNICEF activist is fighting to promote breastfeeding in Africa - because it helps boost the immune systems of at-risk babies.

She explains, "It is the best thing you can do for your child, not only the bonding, that's how you build the immune system, so in a country like Africa imagine how important it is for the mothers to do that. But there is the belief that if you are breastfeeding you cannot have a sexual life, so the husbands of these women are really encouraging them to stop and this is just a taboo."

She is convinced her Los Angeles home is haunted, after her young daughter was spooked by a mysterious visitor. She had to comfort two-year-old Valentina - her daughter with French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault - after the tot woke up in the night and began talking to thin air.

She explains, "She woke up and her eyes were open and she's looking at one specific point and she's going, 'No no no no, au revoir,' which means goodbye in French... And she's looking at someone, but there's no one there. I was so scared, and I'm like, 'Yes, au revoir, whoever you are, get out!' And then she started saying it in English: 'Bye bye, bye bye!' I guess she was trying in different languages to see what nationality this ghost was... It was terrifying!"

She has wed her longterm partner in a romantic ceremony on Valentine's Day in Paris, France.

She married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault on Saturday at the City Hall of the (district) Sixth Arrondissement, in the country's capital. The news was reported on Monday by Le Point newspaper, which the entrepreneur owns, and later confirmed by Mayor Jean-Pierre Lecoq.

The pair originally announced their engagement in March, 2007, but called it off in July, 2008. They have a 16-month-old daughter, Valentina.

She skipped her honeymoon with new husband Francois-Henri Pinault - flying straight back from her Paris, France nuptials to shoot TV show 30 Rock.

She married her businessman partner on St. Valentine's Day in a romantic ceremony in the French capital. But the couple was forced to postpone plans for a relaxing post-wedding break, as she was due to film her guest spot on Tina Fey's hit comedy series immediately afterwards.

The news was confirmed by Alec Baldwin, who plays her love interest in the show: "She flew right from her wedding to come shoot with us again. Her husband is a doll."

Series creator Fey adds, "(She) spent her honeymoon working with us! She told me, 'You must go the parties with me and elope! You must party with me!'"

She originally announced her engagement to Pinault in March 2007, but they called off the wedding in July 2008. They are parents to 16-month-old daughter, Valentina.
