"The Encyclopedia Galactica, in its chapter on Love states that it is far too complicated to define. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has this to say on the subject of love: Avoid, if at all possible."

Love is nothing but trouble, just as its opposite, hate.

If we know what hate is, we can find out what love is, but what is hate?

It's easier to define (to me) than love.

^ Yes, I think so too. Is that becuause love is a broader feeling, which contains lots of other feelings?

I feel love is broader and more complexed.
Though if we look at love and hate as opposites, they look similar complexed, we get something like this:

Love:
You respect, accept, admire the person you love.
You will do anything to make the person feel good and survive.

Hate:
You don't respect, accept, admire the person you hate.
You will do everything to make the person feel bad and you want to kill him.

That was what I could come up with right now, hope you all have something more?

we must give to the dogs all dictionary/encyclopedia definitions! These were written by just people who inclined to wrong. As a matter of fact, love is difficult to define for one major reason: true love is category which is beyond every rational definition like a God, like a Nagual, like a (true) Freedom.
However, we need to talk about it somehow. Of course. How we can talk about God? - indirectly, apothatically, by parable, in comparison. Just so about love.
What we can talk about love by such way? A much enough. But this is a separate topic, it seems to me.
