She has dismissed reports she's dating Miley Cyrus' ex Nick Jonas - because she's too young to date. her' relationship with the Jonas Brothers singer sent gossips into a spin last week.

But she says she's "too busy" and too young to date: "No, (I don't have) a boyfriend, (I'm) looking. But I'm too busy. But I'm 16, and I like to go on dates and I have crushes and stuff."

And there's one particular celebrity who has caught her eye: "I have a huge crush on Shia LaBeouf. And I say that a lot and it's probably not a good thing. I haven't (heard from him). I should wait until I'm a little bit older I think."

She has vowed not to follow in the footsteps of fellow teen icon Miley Cyrus and release a solo album - she wants to join a band instead.

Cyrus launched a solo music career following the success of her Hannah Montana TV show, releasing two solo LPs since 2007. And she, who stars in hit kids show The Wizards of Waverly Place, also wants to create her own sound, but she doesn't want to go it alone. She tells MTV.com, "I'm going to be in a band - no her stuff. I'm not going to be a solo artist. I think that I don't want my name attached to it."

However she promises her fans will still enjoy the record: "I basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to. I will be singing, and I'm learning drums and playing electric guitar."

She has added a new twist to the Nick Jonas/Miley Cyrus break-up saga, suggesting the Jonas Brothers star is still smitten with his ex in a new song.

In new tune I'm Sorry, she sings about liking a guy who can't get over his ex.

She tells teen magazine Twist, "It's about a boy I kind of fell for, but he couldn't let his ex-girlfriend go, and it was really difficult. And I felt, like, in a way, she wasn't good enough. So the song is basically me saying that I'm sorry that it didn't work out or that she used to be who she was, but you have to let me in and you have to know that I'll do everything I can to make you happy and be the best I can be."

She has been romantically linked with the youngest Jonas brother throughout the summer, but both have denied they're dating.

She is angry about speculation over the subject of her new song I'm Sorry, insisting it's not about rumored beau Nick Jonas.

She sings about liking a guy who can't get over his ex in the new tune, adding to rumors suggesting she has been dating Miley Cyrus' ex-boyfriend. However she is adamant Jonas has nothing to do with the track, and she's upset his name has been dragged into the confusion.

She tells People.com, "It's definitely not about Nick Jonas. It's about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, 'Oh no, this gossip has to go away!' I haven't known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I've gotten really close with all of them."

Despite rumors she's dating Nick Jonas, she says she is single and has a crush on Shia LaBeouf. The 16-year-old star of the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place said, "Let Shia know I'm available," at a red carpet event for the St. Jude Children's Hospital Runway For Life benefit, according to E! Online.

She also let reporters know about her upcoming album, saying she would love to record a song with Paramore singer Hayley Williams, best friend Demi Lovato, and even Miley Cyrus.

She is on her way to becoming the next teen movie mogul after forming her own production company.

She has formed July Moon Productions, a partnership with XYZ Films, to develop at least two films for the actress/singer to star in and produce.

The deal comes hot on the heals of a decision by Disney bosses to adapt her hit TV program Wizards of Waverly Place for the big screen - following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus' upcoming Hannah Montana film, and Hilary Duff's 2003 The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

Her pal Jennifer Stone has played down the actress' relationship with Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, insisting girls can "have guy friends".

The teenage stars sparked rumors they were dating last week when they were spotted laughing and playing around together in Vancouver, Canada.

Lautner, 18, is currently shooting Twilight sequel New Moon, while she is in the city working on new film Ramona and Beezus.

But her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star Stone is adamant there's nothing romantic going on between the pair.

She tells Eonline.com's Marc Malkin, "Just because they're hanging out together doesn't mean they're dating, you know. A lot of girls have guy friends. They're just friends. She's friends with guys!"

She has poured scorn on reports she's romancing Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, insisting she's sworn off dating other stars.

She sparked rumors they were dating last month when they were spotted laughing and playing around together in Vancouver, Canada. However, She now insists her brief fling with Nick Jonas has put her off relationships with male stars.

She says, "I used to say that I wanted someone cute and nice, and an actor too. But now I think it would be good for me to date someone who's not in the business."

She has left "High School Musical" to make a movie about music — at a high school.

The key difference: "Bandslam," due in theaters in August, is being released by the new studio behind "Twilight," well outside the tween hit-making machine that made her a star. Now 20, She says she's ready for roles that mark a departure from her shy and geeky Gabriella Montez character — and from Disney.

"It definitely is a love-hate thing, you know," She said in a recent interview. "Disney is incredible. And 'High School Musical' did wonders and I could not be more thankful. But at the same time, people see me as my character, Gabriella. And I'm just excited to kind of branch out of that and have people see me in a new light."

"You can put yourself in a hole in the ground if you continue to do the same thing. And that's kind of why I want to branch out," She said. "But yeah, of course it's always something that's somewhat frightening."

Her biggest leap: Playing a lead in Zack Snyder's next film. The director of "300" and "Watchmen" wrote and is directing "Sucker Punch," about girls trying, at least inside their heads, to break out of a mental institution.

"People I think are going to be genuinely shocked," She said. "It's about these girls in a mental institution that in their heads gets turned around to be a brothel. And in the meanwhile they are kicking serious #@$%#$.

"They're killing people with machine guns. It's crazy. But I'm a big fan of Zack Snyder's. And I feel like everything he does is so beautiful and visual. And I can't wait to see what he's going to do with it."

She kept dodging questions over her supposed romance with Twilight and Twilight Saga: New Moon star Taylor Lautner, but now she's finally come clean.

She told Extra, "He's one of my good friends," and "I'm single. Definitely single."

Taylor simply said "She’s a great girl, great friend" to Access Hollywood when asked if he was off the market.

Meanwhile she admits that after seeing Twilight she's officially a fan. "It was good. It was really good. I really liked it."

And what about all the girls going "ga ga" over Twilight's lead? "I can totally see the Robert Pattinson thing now... That's for sure."

Best pals she and Demi Lovato ditched a glamorous film party to invade a high school prom in Canada on Thursday.

The two Disney stars were in Toronto celebrating the launch of her new TV movie Princess Protection Program when they decided to check out a prom at nearby Etobicoke Collegiate Institute.

Security guards allowed the 16 year olds to sneak into the event, where they mingled with stunned students, and even took to the dance floor to show off their moves.

Prom night came to an end for the teens at 11pm, however, after the party-crashers were asked to leave because they weren't students.

She was still on a high after the event, writing on her Twitter.com blog: "PPP (Princess Protection Program) peeps and I crashed a prom tonight and danced with a high school!! Amazing!! I finally had prom!"

She got to make a movie with her best friend, Demi Lovato. Princess Protection Program casts the Disney sensations as adversaries, so it was a really tough acting job.

"Sometimes our director would have to say, 'Okay, girls, remember you don't like each other,'" Gomez said. "So that was a bit of a challenge."

Ultimately, the film's message is that they become friends, just as in real life. "What I really like about it is the friendship element. A lot of little girls look up to Demi and I's friendship because I've known her since I was seven, and we've gone through so much together and that's what I really appreciate, is that there are such thing as having girls as your best friend for a really long time. Of course it's not easy but you go through all those things and that was really nice having that message come across."

It helps going through celebrity when you have a close friend going through it two. She has just been a star for two years since Wizards of Waverly Place has been on the air, and Demo Lovato got her start in last year's Camp Rock.

"It's also a double-edged sword because it's nice to have people who aren't in the business too, because it's refreshing to not talk about everything going on and talk about you know normal things," says her.

For young girls who think being famous is all it takes to be a princess, maybe "Princess Protection Program" can teach them a lesson too. "Being a princess means being able to just find things that make you a princess," She explained. "I don't think there's a specific way to be certain, like oh, okay you got to be pretty, you got to be this or that. It's just kind of finding all the quirks about yourself that make you who you are."

I love Selena Gomez. She is one of the few teen disney-like starlets (she and Demi, as well as some others) who is down to earth and just a normal person. She always seems respectful and polite in interviews. She's not out hanging with 30-year-olds like Miley.
