That's a great scene in Clerks smith: Randal Graves : Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? Dante Hicks : "Empire". Randal Graves : Blasphemy! Dante Hicks : "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.  Personally, I've always been more of an Empire fan, Dante is right |

Absolutely Empire. The ending made the whole movie, when Chewie and Lando leave in the Falcon to go find Han. Back in 1980 when it came out, you went to see it on the big screen, and it finishes unresolved, and you had to wait 3 years to find out what happens next. It was the ultimate cliffhanger as a kid.
I remember when I got my AT-AT for Christmas!! It was awesome!!

I am sorry to say I no longer like either one...the spirit of Star Wars died when I heard the line "exqueeze me" in a Star Wars film. By the way, did he ever get that giant tumor in his neck removed?  |

Empire Strikes Back, hands down I was 4 when it came out and I remember going with my parents to see, it was amazing then and still pretty amazing now.
