StarPulse Notables section has lots of info on artists, authors, and much more 'non-entertainment' personalities (unless you count GWB as an entertainer ). With that said, who is your favorite author?? My fiance just read the latest Stephen King 'Dark Tower' conclusion and her words after closing the book were that "Stephen King is a jackass". I guess she didn't like it too much. I like King's older stuff.

Shadow, I recently read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and loved it. Different...actually made me cry (in the train station with his rat...).
I don't really read by author, necessarily. I usually read the back covers and choose by my mood at the time.
Turning Thirty, by Mike Gayle--great if you're anywhere in your mid-20's to early 30's.
Four Blondes and Trading Up, by Candice Bushnell (who wrote Sex and the City, which I don't watch, but loved the books, especially Trading Up) are good if you're in the mood for a scandalous girly book.
I also still love some of the children's/teen books...
A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (series), by C.S. Lewis Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson (an all-time favorite)
And of course, US and People Magazine, for guilty pleasure reading.

I watch u there in your room, With your pain. I know your thoughts, I read you – It hurts, doesn’t it? You made yourself believe that someone cared. No one really cares. If they did care, No one will notice. [...] Go on now – take the knife. Score your skin. And then u’ll be mine – all mine.
