She who owns a property in California, has completed just one movie - the upcoming Labor Pains - since 2007's I Know Who Killed Me, and is due to begin filming "Dare To Love Me" in the coming months.

She recently lost out on the leading role in director Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland to acting newcomer Mia Wasikowska, but insists she's not bitter about missing out on the project.

She says, "That didn't work out. It is what it is. You're not right for the part, and that's it. I can take it, I'm a big girl."

But she reveals the lack of film roles have left her uncertain of her financial future - admitting even she is not immune to the effects of the current downturn in the global economy.

She tells America's Nylon magazine, "It's scary when you realize, 'Oh my God, I'm not working. And (I) have a house to pay for now.

She has hinted she could turn her back on acting for good because she has more fun as a high-fashion model.

She has struggled to carve out a successful Hollywood career since she shot to fame as a Disney child star, and hasn't starred in a big screen project since 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me.

More recently she has relied on special appearances and modeling shoots to remain in the limelight.

But she isn't too upset that the acting offers have dried up - admitting she'd love to pose for the camera full-time.

She tells Nylon magazine, "I love doing photo shoots. I mean, if I could just sign with IMG (modelling agency) and do ad campaigns and model more, I'd do that . . . because that's fun for me. That's not work."

And it seems her modelling ambitions could come to fruition - IMG boss Ivan Bart is keen to give the star a chance.

He tells New York gossip column PageSix, "She's a beautiful girl and obviously knows a lot about fashion. Providing that she was contractually free, we would take a meeting."

She has been involved in another car accident - her third crash in less than three weeks.

She and her assistant were caught up in a smash in Glendale, California, on Monday night when her Maserati rear-ended a Subaru vehicle, damaging the left front bumper of the luxury sports car. She was a passenger in the Maserati, while her unnamed assistant was driving, according to JustJared.com.

She was previously involved in a crash at Jack Nicholson's Hollywood Hills home earlier this month, when she drove her Mercedes into a gatepost outside the property, after being let in to escape the paparazzi.

She was involved in another incident just days later, when her driver clipped a gate while escorting the star home from a night out at Los Angeles' Sky Bar hang-out.

She is currently serving a three-year probation order relating to her 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.

She has blasted the media for portraying her as "spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional" and hampering her Hollywood career in the process.

She is frequently in and out of the headlines for her allegedly turbulent romance with girlfriend Samantha Ronson, as well as verbal run-ins with her father.

But she who has spent time behind bars and in rehab for drug and alcohol issues, insists she is no longer the party girl she used to be and she's simply trying to focus her energies on her stalling movie career.

She tells E! Online, "They need to stop saying we're fighting. People (are) telling lies about me to her and all this garbage. I'm really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work. The only reason I go to clubs is to hear Samantha spin or be normal. I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I don't lie. I love to act and write and be creative, and I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever may need it."

And she is also fed up with the obsessive devotees that buy into all the tabloid gossip about her - claiming they are the ones fuelling the press interest in her love life.

She adds, "All the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting... If (only) people would just stop judging me and accusing me and making me out to be this aloof, spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional person that I am not and could never be."

Her partner in a new tanning business has hit back at allegations she has been secretly using a rival product.

She will launch her tanning potion Sevin Nyne later this month - touting it as the secret to her glowing complexion. But sources tell the New York Daily News that she has employed the tanning services of rival brand Fake Bake several times in the past few months as she prepares for the launch of her own product.

The newspaper quotes a source saying, "She tans on the sly, and will have the van come to the house of her girlfriend (DJ Samantha Ronson) instead of her own for discretionary purposes."

However her business partner, Kristi Kaylor, refutes the claims, insisting, "She only uses Sevin Nyne. As well as perfecting the solution with our lab and choosing the scent, She named the product, art-directed the visual components and has been involved every step of the way. She also has her own (tanning) machine and gallons of Sevin Nyne solution that she uses regularly."

She has once again been forced to hit back at reports she has split from lesbian lover Samantha Ronson - after she turned up to promotional duties without the DJ in tow.

The insider explains, "They've been spending time with their families and working. It's normal and healthy to do that. That doesn't mean they broke up!"

Posts on the star's private Twitter.com page have been obtained by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, and the notes appear to show her fuming at her partner online. The blogs, said to be from her, are directed at Ronson's profile on the social networking site.

They read, "I was right all along. Cheat. Being cheated on does wonders to you. I'm doing this publicly because u&ur friends call People mag.. So you win, you broke my heart. Now go away. I loved you."

The news comes amid reports that Ronson had the locks on her Los Angeles home changed on Saturday, according to TMZ.com. The couple has been dogged by break-up rumors throughout their turbulent and highly publicized romance.

Her grandmother is delighted she has split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, and she's urging her to reach out to her extended family as she deals with the break-up.

Marilyn Lohan insists her granddaughter should never have been dating the DJ in the first place, and now her entire family is keen to help her as she gets back to single life.

The worried gran tells People.com, "We'd all like to reach out to her. We're all here for her and we'd love to see her. Me, as a grandmother, I'd like to try and help her out, but she's not here (in Long Island), she's in L.A. I think she needs her family in her life, but they're not. They should be. She has sparked rumors she's signed on to appear in a new topless Las Vegas stage act. She reportedly flew to Sin City on Saturday to attend the grand opening of sexy striptease production "Peepshow" and meet with its creator, Broadway director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell.

Former Spice Girls Melanie Brown kicked off her stint in the show last week, which features celebrities in rotating lead roles.

According to Fox News, She is in talks with Mitchell to take over from actress Kelly Monaco when the star leaves the show to return to soap opera General Hospital.

A spokesperson for her had not returned requests for comment as WENN went to press.
