The good thing is good music is forever. It just needs the ears than can appreciate it. Luckily, every now and again it gets lucky. There's a girl. She's 21 and blonde. However, you might not catch her rolling around in the sand and cooing about penciled in love and how grown she is.

Her voice alone possesses many wonderful traits: beauty, seasoning, unrigged emotion, and mystery. Hilary McRae is not your everyday powdered pink soultress. She's like Wonder Woman equipped with a utility belt that can bring down a New Orleans juke joint in flames. McRae plays the piano, saxophone, bass, and guitar; these jazzy instruments are perfectly glazed with intricate, heartfelt lyrics that don't make you ashamed to blast her latest hit, "Every Day (When You Be Mine)," from your car speakers.

"Every Day (When You Be Mine)":

"There's an organic sound on the record," McRae says when asked about the speakeasy hum of her debut album, Through These Walls. "That sound is a big influence. I appreciate live sound; unsynchronized, real sound." Through These Walls was a finished product upon her signing with Hear Music (the mixing, mastering, and art work was done at Hear Music. Hear Music Records are the smart guys who gave the world the acoustic version of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill as well as new works from legends, Joni Mitchell and Paul McCartney). Hillary has found a good home away from home.

Born in Boynton Beach, Florida, the road has yet to begin for this young talent who digs Jimmy Eat World, Maroon 5, and Goo Goo Dolls. "'This Love' will always be one of my favorites and I love 'The Secret.'" As Through These Walls' release date quickly approaches. Hillary hopes to keep herself grounded. Her pre-Hear Music touring with Latin superstar, Christian Castro, should aid her in her balancing act. McRae has already been labeled as a musically ambitious, blonde Stevie Wonder; so if the stars get too bright she can always go down a notch to sky level and make her dreams come true.

Hillary McRae will be touring soon with Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield and Todd Rundgren; and inside a music store near you. Her calm wind will soon turn into a jammin' tornado. Grab your umbrella and cross your fingers so that maybe she'll swing by and lift you off your feet.
