The Everyman Factor

Folks like Mike Fleming Jr. of keep pointing out the fact that Affleck has turned his career around and should be given a chance.  But what unsavvy cinefiles don’t get is that the films Affleck has made and acted in to recent success have him playing the everyman.  So unlike the cocky acting work in "Gigli" and "Reindeer Games," "The Town" and "Argo" showed audiences a different side of a man who was simply one of the people.  It’s a humble and fitting stance that won over all those who previously hated him and taking a step back by playing the wealthy and ego-driven Bruce Wayne is a mistake. (And Robert Downey Jr. was playing egotistical characters well long before "Iron Man’s" Tony Stark Mike!)
