Fall Out Boy announced Monday that after a four-year hiatus that they're back together and have recorded a new album and planned a tour. They've even released a new single and plan to "Save Rock And Roll" in 2013.

Less than a week after guitarist Joe Trohman dismissed rumors of a reunion, the band has released its first single since 2009, "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)," and announced 40+ tour dates -- beginning Monday night in Chicago.

A message from singer Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, drummer Andrew Hurley and Trohman posted on the band's official website reads, "[W]hen we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. this isn't a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.

"The future of fall out boy starts now."

"Save Rock And Roll," produced by Butch Walker, will hit stores on May 7; and the album's first single is out now and available at iTunes.

"Been holding @falloutboy hostage in my studio for a couple of months now," Walker; who produced the band's 2007 album "Infinity On High"; tweeted Monday morning. "First song's out of the bag: http://falloutboy.com #SaveRockAndRoll."

The band is set to head out on tour in support of the new album in May; but have warmup shows scheduled in several major cities around the world spread out over the next two months.

Ironically, Trohman posted the image of bandmates Wentz and Hurley (below) to his Instagram page shortly before the announcement with the hash tag, "#lightemup."
