Pop singer Eva Universe has teamed up with the non-profit organization The Harmony Project to launch a "Sing For School" viral video contest that enables fans to win money for their school by performing her new single and uploading the clip to YouTube.
The goal of the contest is two-fold: to draw attention to the need for the arts in education, and to provide three winning schools with money to support or potentially start their arts programs. The first-place video will take home $10,000, with second place earning $5,000 and third place $2,500.
Universe said in a statement included in the press release, "I’m excited to launch this contest with support from Harmony Project! I realized my dreams of becoming a singer by participating in my school’s music programs and hope to help other students realize their dreams as well."
The contest ends on May 31.
