Ellen Page Says Video Game 'Ripped Off My Likeness'
Ellen Page isn't too pleased with Naughty Dog, the makers of "The Last of Us."
Page took to Reddit to answer fans' questions and the topic of the hit video game, which features a young female character with a striking resblence to her, came up.
"I guess I should be flattered that they [Naughty Dog] ripped off my likeness," Page wrote about Ellie, the character (above). "But I am actually acting in a video game called 'Beyond: Two Souls', so it was not appreciated."
"Beyond: Two Souls" is also coming our for Playstation 3, just as The Last of Us did. Willem Dafoe and Ellen Page acted in extensive motion capture scenes for the title.
The Last of Us' director told Eurogamer, "We don't know what's going on with other games... when we see the reactions we're like, OK, we don't like that... We want our characters to stand on their own two feet."
The director also said that the character in the game is a closer representation to Ashley Johnson, who performed motion capture for the game. "We went a little bit younger, and we think that we got a little bit more Ashley inside of there, which we like. And we really want to respect Ashley for the great performance that she's giving us."
