A diner in New York has accused Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick of throwing him out of a restaurant after mistaking him for a paparazzo.
The British actor was enjoying a night out at Manhattan eatery Los Feliz recently when he became annoyed by camera flashes from a nearby table, and allegedly marched over to the party and berated them for taking his picture. The unnamed diner claims he was not aware of Westwick's celebrity status and he was merely photographing his own night out - an admission which is said to have infuriated the actor.
The man tells the New York Daily News, "Ed came over and was like, 'Stop taking my picture!' He started shouting obscenities at me and getting in my face. He was all bitter and s**t. I thought it was a joke. He walked off in a cloud of disgust. I went over to him and asked him who he thought he was, and he dissolved into a fit of rage."
And the diner claims Westwick then asked the restaurant manager to have him removed. He adds, "Ed was snickering in the corner, because the people he was with had told the staff that I was paparazzi. So I paid my bill, and I left."
A representative for Westwick admits the star dined at the restaurant, but insists "there was no altercation."
