DVD Review: 'Bounty Killer'
Ready to mix a little "Road Warrior" in your "Dust Up?" Then follow us as we check out the new to DVD guns and ammo flick "Bounty Killer" out now from Arc Entertainment. We review the thrills and kills below!
Title: "Bounty Killer"
Cast: Matthew Marsden, Christian Pitre, Barak Hardley
Director: Henry Saine
Runtime: 93 minutes
Release Company: Arc Entertainment
The Flick: Much like the previous year’s "Dust Up," "Bounty Killer" is a real throwback to flicks that went balls out just to be fun. Flicks that dare to be extreme in their violence, sex and bloodshed for pure exploitation enjoyment – "Bounty Killer" fits that CEO smashing bill. Hot gals, tough guys and some savory looking gypsy folk mixed with high octane car chases and bloody gun battles. And it's all here - from it’s brutal and comical tone (the latter via cowardly sidekick Barak Hardley!) to the hot and bothered characters (Christian Pitre’s Mary Death is possibly the coolest, sexiest and most deadly chick to hit the screen since "Foxy Brown!") and even a gaggle of creative cameos to boot (Gary Busey, Kristanna Loken, Alexa Vega and even a more weathered but still sizzling Beverly D’Angelo!) "Bounty Killer" is a ‘what you see is what you get’ experience – and the getting here is real good.
Best Feature: The one-stop shop 'Making Of' featurette tells the tale from start to finish – just the facts ma’am.
Best Hidden Gem: I really do dig the unconventional whine of Hardley’s gun caddy, but it was truly nice seeing D’Angelo in the saddle again!
Worth the Moola: Every friggin’ penny! If you like guns, gals, guts and glory (and not necessarily in that order!) "Bounty Killer" is your icing on the grindhouse cake.
