David Arquette: 'Finally I'm A Man'
David Arquette honored his Jewish heritage as he celebrated his belated Bar Mitzvah in Israel on Monday.
The Scream star was invited to a 13-year-old boy's coming-of-age ritual while in Jerusalem filming his upcoming travel series Trippin, and was thrilled when his hosts suggested he should have his own rite of passage.
Arquette, whose mom has Jewish roots, donned traditional prayer gear for the ceremony and read aloud passages from the Torah, the Jewish Bible.
He later took to his Twitter.com page to share a photo of himself at the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Jerusalem, writing, "I had my Bar Mitzvah today at the wall. Finally I'm a man."
Arquette previously revealed plans for a late Bar Mitzvah, telling the Jewish Journal in 2010, "I wanted a bar mitzvah but didn't have one as a kid... I still may get one - maybe for my 40th birthday."
