Danny DeVito: 'My Heart Was In My Throat' At The Super Bowl
Monday morning, Danny DeVito was in Los Angeles promoting his upcoming movie The Lorax, in which he plays the voice of the Dr. Seuss character. The night before, he was celebrating the New York Giants’s victory at the SuperBowl.
“My heart was in my throat,” DeVito said. “I was like oh my God. Can you believe that? The guy sits down in the end zone, gets a touchdown but we still had downs to go. We could’ve taken that clock for a walk, and that last minute. Ohhhhh.”
The DeVitos traveled to Indianapolis for the weekend, and after the close game partied all night. “You know, we were with people who were of both persuasions. Some people didn’t like the Giants. Then there were some people who liked them too much. Anyway, we had a good time. I got home at three o’clock in the morning.”
DeVito was beaming on Monday as he greeted the press “on this wonderful day after the day the Giants won.” He went on to detail his weekend. “Oh yeah, I enjoyed it. Rhea [Perlman] and I went on Saturday to Indianapolis. Fine town, really nice. Boy, we had a great time. We stayed in a nice hotel. It was packed of course. People were just swarming all over the place. Then we went to dinner and next day was that fantastic [game].”
We’ll have more with DeVito and the cast of The Lorax, which opens March 2, later this month on Starpulse.
