Daniel Craig refuses to watch the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to avoid copying the original.

The James Bond actor stars as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in filmmaker David Fincher's upcoming Hollywood adaptation of the first novel in late author Stieg Larsson's crime trilogy.

The role was first played by Scandinavian star Michael Nyqvist in the Swedish film franchise, but Craig admits he has yet to check out his predecessor's performance.

He tells Britain's Seven magazine, "Before you ask, no, I haven't seen the Swedish movies. We're calling our one - how did the Coen Brothers describe their True Grit? - a reboot, that's it. David Fincher is one of my all-time favorite directors, and working with him has not been a disappointment."
