It’s week seven on “Dancing with the Stars” and the two dance nights continue with a fusion dance and a dance marathon that will test the endurance of the couples.

After the pros and the DWTS Troupe demonstrate the dance fusion with five dances the competition begins with Apolo and Karina dancing a Cha Cha and a Paso Doble.  In a performance that saw Apolo take his shirt off for the first time the judges said was triumphant, wonderful, and fantastic.  Apolo and Karina scored 27 points for their performance.

Emmitt and Cheryl performed a Rumba and a Samba that the judges called smooth and balanced.  Len said that he could not have done as well as Emmitt.  The duo scored 27.5 points for their dance.

Kristie and Maks channeled Cinderella for their Quickstep and Samba.  Although she got a little out of sync the judges called the performance an admirable effort and fun to watch.  Kristie and Maks scored 24 points for their dance; a score Kristie called generous.

Kelly and Valentin performed a Foxtrot and a Cha Cha that the judges called smooth, sharp, flashy, and sophisticated.  Kelly and Valentin scored 27 points for their dance.

Melissa and Tony performed a Tango and Cha Cha that the judges called on fire, had great transitions, and was the definition of a proper transition.  Melissa and Tony scored 29 points for their dance.

Since Derek was not medically cleared to dance, his buddy and Shawn’s original partner Mark Ballas stepped in to pair up with Shawn Johnson for a  Tango and a Paso Doble.  The judges called the transitions seamless, flawless, and fantastico.  Shawn and Mark earned a perfect score of 30 for their dance.

The last solo performance of the night was an Argentine Tango and a Samba from Giles and Peta that Len said was a seamless nipping around of South America.  Giles and Peta scored 28.5 points for their dance.

Before the grueling dance marathon where the couples had to perform for up to four minutes, Mark Ballas and Chelsie Hightower joined up with some of the future stars of Ballroom dance for a modern take on the traditional Ballroom styles.

In the Swing dance marathon the couples would earn between four and 10 points depending on when they were eliminated from the dance.
