Cuba Gooding, Jr. Is No Longer A Wanted Man
Cuba Gooding, Jr. no longer has a warrant out for his arrest after meeting with Louisiana police on Wednesday morning.
The Jerry Maguire star became a wanted man this week amid allegations he shoved a female bartender while drinking in a New Orleans bar in the early hours of Tuesday.
Gooding, Jr., who is currently in the city filming upcoming movie The Butler, reportedly became embroiled in a heated altercation with fellow Old Absinthe House patrons who had been taking his picture.
A female employee intervened and asked Gooding, Jr. to leave the establishment, prompting the actor to retaliate, according to TMZ.com. A complaint was filed with police and officials issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor battery.
However, Gooding, Jr.'s representative insists the matter has now been cleared up after the actor stopped by the New Orleans police station to talk to cops on Wednesday.
A statement released by the actor's spokesman reads: "There is no warrant. Mr. Gooding, his representative and the New Orleans authorities met this morning and are moving swiftly to resolve this misunderstanding."
