Courtney Love has stepped up her war of words with Dave Grohl by accusing the rocker of destroying Kurt Cobain's memory by allowing a Nirvana song to be used in The Muppets movie.
The Foo Fighters frontman, who played in Nirvana with Love's late husband Cobain, was forced to defend himself this week after the Hole star claimed he had "hit on" her teenage daughter Frances Bean Cobain.
Grohl vehemently denied the allegations, branding Love's comments "another hateful Twitter rant," and the blonde star has now hit back by accusing her adversary of staining Cobain's legacy by letting Smells Like Teen Spirit be featured in Jason Segel's 2011 kids film.
She told the NY Daily News' Gatecrasher column, "(I am) certainly not going to retract anything... Unfortunately, Dave is on another Kurt rant, by turning him into a Muppet and hitting on his daughter. We got no money from The Muppets, we got nothing."
"It made Jason Segel feel special, but Dave knows Kurt wouldn't have wanted to be a Muppet."
