Cher refuses to follow Thanksgiving traditions and she explained why in a rant about the annual holiday on Twitter earlier this week.

The singer doesn't like the holiday, which stems from the pilgrims' celebration of their first harvest in America in 1621. She believes the European colonization of the country was a "great crime."

In a series of posts, she explained, "I don't (celebrate Thanksgiving)! (For) me & my family, it's a day, when every1  is free 4 dinner & a movie, not 2 celebrate the beginning of a great crime... Stealing land, from a ppl, who believed owning land was like owning sky!"
