The wait is almost over for the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins best selling teen novel The Hunger Games, and now there's a newly released second trailer to add to all the excitement.

The new spot, which will air during the Super Bowl, reveals more of the film's futuristic look, from glimpses of Panem's capital city ('The Capitol') to creepy characters who live to watch teenagers kill each other in a controlled habitat.

"Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains."

The film opens March 23, and two sequels - "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" are in the works.

Check out the new trailer below, featuring a creepy blue-haired Stanley Tucci as TV host Caesar Flickerman and equally creepy-if-not-creepier Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket
