Chad Johnson Files Own Divorce Papers
Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has filed his own legal papers to end his marriage, a month after his new wife initiated divorce proceedings.
Evelyn Lozada claimed their union was "irretrievably broken" in court documents submitted on August 14, just days after the American football star was arrested for allegedly head-butting her.
Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, reportedly wanted to give their relationship another chance, but now he has agreed to separate in his own divorce filing, lodged in a Florida court on Wednesday.
The former wide receiver, who was dropped from the Miami Dolphins after his domestic violence arrest, has asked a judge to enforce the couple's prenuptial agreement, reports TMZ.com.
Johnson married reality TV star Lozada on July 4.
