The Illuminati, that fabled organization of rich folks who run everything and aspire to take over the planet with a new world order (and may or may not even exist) is supposedly filled with dozens of Hollywood's elite.
Historically, the Illuminati began as a secret society in Bavaria during the during the 18th century, when Adam Weishaupt founded the "Order of the Illuminati" on May 1, 1776 in Ingolstadt, Upper Bavaria.
The caste is mostly comprised of rich white males, although wealth -- whether inherited or self-made -- is something that will get anyone in, thus the alleged involvement of the rich and famous.
Conspiracy theorists claim that the Illuminati secretly runs the world and has been behind many of the major events of the last two centuries, including the French Revolution, the Apollo 11 moon landing, Watergate, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 9/11 attacks, and even the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
But the biggest conspiracy theory is that the secret society has one goal: world domination through the creation of one global, socialist government that undermines America.
Some say the Illuminati controls popular music and television commercials in order to brainwash people into accepting the takeover when it happens, and the secret group utilizes signs and symbols, such as the Eye of Providence and the pyramid or triangle, such as the one seen on the Great Seal of the United States (on the back of the one dollar bill).
The Illuminati, of course, are also Satan worshipers, and their signs include the pentagram, the number 666, the goat-headed idol Baphomet, a snake in a circle eating its own tail and upside-down crosses.
Numerous celebrities have been photographed using hand signals associated with the group, including holding one hand in the "OK" gesture and looking through the hole formed by the thumb and forefinger. The symbol is associated with the "triple 6."
Another sign is using both hands to make a diamond shape, a symbol often flashed by one of the Illuminati's rumored bigwigs -- rapper Jay-Z. The rapper doesn't only flash this sign, but he's also incorporated it into his music and his videos, one of which, "On to the Next One," features several Satanic symbols, including devil horns and goat skulls.
Search for Jay-Z Illuminati on Google and hundreds of websites will come back in the results with all sorts of stories and conspiracy theories about the rapper.
But Hova's hand symbol is also the sign for his Roc-A-Fella record label, and lots of other stars have thrown the sign up as well, including sports stars like Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez -- pals of the rapper who are simply flashing his sign.
In fact, search pretty much any star's name with the word Illuminati and something's bound to come up because the conspiracy theorists can somehow find all sorts of sure giveaways.
Regardless of the use of Jay-Z's Roca hand signal, the rapper is just one of a long list of celebrities past and present who are believed to be associated with the secret cult...
